Overview
To promote Jewels of the Sea: The Jellyfish Experience at SeaWorld San Diego, I designed a graphic poster that visually captured the beauty and emotional depth of the exhibition while ensuring clarity and accessibility. The primary objective was to create a striking design that communicated key information with a clear visual hierarchy.

Creating Sketches of Poster Designs
- Started with some free-hand sketches of potential layout designs for the contents of the poster
- Testing out visual appealing placements for images/text


Designing Color + Images Digital Layouts
- Used Figma to craft detailed prototypes focused on layout, type hierarchy, and spatial organization
- Explored multiple placements of headings and subheadings to enhance legibility and visual balance
- Gathered and implemented feedback throughout the design process
- Created and evaluated ~10 printed color iterations to refine contrast, color palette, and text alignment


Designing B&W Digital Layouts
- Developed detailed wireframes using Figma to illustrate the layout, emphasizing content hierarchy and interaction
- Testing out various sketch designs


Final Design
- Crafted a modern look inspired by SeaWorld's banding aesthetics, incorporating sleek typography and a bold color palette
- Ensured the design was fully flushed, with emotional resonance with viewers


Printed Poster
- Various physical color prints of the illustrated SeaWorld posters
- Final design successfully communicated both the key information and emotional tone of the exhibition
